Ryan Angel, an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) who dedicated two decades of his life to emergency services, has died, leaving colleagues, friends, and loved ones heartbroken. His passing has prompted an outpouring of grief from his Bledsoe County EMS family and fellow members of the Pikeville Volunteer Fire Department, where he devoted himself to helping others.
Known not only for his service but also for the relationships he built along the way, Ryan leaves behind a legacy of commitment, compassion, and dedication to his community.
A 20-Year Journey With Bledsoe County EMS
Ryan’s journey with Bledsoe County EMS began in 2006, when he joined the service as a driver. Over the years, he continued his education and professional development, eventually becoming an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.
His progression reflected years of commitment to emergency response and a willingness to take on greater responsibility in serving people during some of their most difficult moments.
For his colleagues, Ryan was much more than a position or a name on a work schedule. He was a familiar face, a friend, and a trusted member of a team that faced demanding shifts, challenging calls, and the emotional realities of emergency work together.
Over two decades, those shared experiences created bonds that extended beyond the workplace. The people who serve alongside one another in emergency services often become a second family, united by their responsibilities, sacrifices, and understanding of the work they do.
A Passion for Serving Others
Ryan’s dedication extended beyond Bledsoe County EMS. He also served as a member of the Pikeville Volunteer Fire Department, reflecting his commitment to supporting others through emergency services.
For Ryan, this work was more than a job. It was a passion that shaped a significant part of his life. Whether responding through EMS or serving with the volunteer fire department, he devoted his time to being available when people needed help.
Emergency responders frequently encounter situations that test their strength and resilience. Behind every call are individuals and families facing uncertainty, and the people who respond play an important role in providing assistance during those moments.
Ryan’s years of service represent a lasting contribution to the emergency services community and the people it serves.
A Devoted Husband and Father
Away from his professional responsibilities, Ryan held an equally important role as a husband and father to his two children.
His colleagues acknowledged that the grief experienced by his family is beyond what words can adequately express. As they remember a valued member of their professional family, they have also asked others to keep his wife, children, and extended family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
The loss of a husband and father leaves a deeply personal absence, and the support of friends, relatives, and the wider community can be especially important as loved ones navigate their grief.
